4K Aluminum Patio Cover FAQ
Search our 4K aluminum patio cover FAQ section to discover detailed responses to frequently asked questions about our innovative aluminum covers. From design options to durability features, we provide insightful information to help you make informed decisions and enjoy the benefits of our 4K aluminum covers.
⤓ How is 4K brand patio covers different and why is it the best choice?
When it comes to patio covers, carports, and screen room enclosures, aluminum extrusions are the framing material of choice. Why? Because under the wettest conditions, 4K Pergola aluminum patio covers will not rust, corrode, or warp. They also require little to no maintenance. Because 4K aluminum is strong yet lightweight, 4K Pergola aluminum patio covers allow for greater design versatility and longer beam spans. Strong, durable with wind speeds up to 120 MPH and a Lifetime Warranty.
4K Pergola products are the material of choice because it is strong, durable, and cost-effective. Our lattice tubes are so strong that they can span out to 20' without any rafters, which means less time for installation. We can install 20' x 20' square feet on concrete without any footing using our strong 6" post x 3/16" thickness, and our beams are 2"x6" or 2"x8" x 1/8" wall thickness. This is very cost-efficient without digging any holes and waiting for concrete curing.
⤓ What are the color options for 4K materials?
4K Pegola products are available in 5 colors: Adobe Tan, Apollo Gray, Black, Espresso, and White. The designs are modern, strong, and versatile. We can incorporate 4K Pergola with our 4K Pergo-Soleil panels for a creative and stunning design for your oasis.
⤓ What post sizes are available?
Our posts are available in the following sizes: 4"x4", 6"x6", and 8"x8". Note: The 8″ post size can span patio structures up to 33ft with only two posts!
⤓ What beam sizes are available?
2”x4”, 2”x6”, 2”x8”, and 2"x10" beams are available; the larger the size the longer span is available.
⤓ What lattice sizes are available?
1"x4", 2” and 3” lattice is available in economy and heavy-duty, in various lengths.
⤓ How does 4K Aluminum compare to roll-formed suppliers Alumawood, Elitewood, and Wetherwood?
4K Pergola™ products are extruded aluminum in aircraft alloy 6061 T6, and we have the best primer coat, gold chromate before powder coating, with the best 20-year warranty. This allows the paint to adhere properly for a much longer-lasting product against fading and chipping. Did you know that roll-formed material is very thin and must have a wood grain finish, and it cannot be a smooth finish? Some Suppliers do not have primer coats; therefore, the paint will fade and chip. The lattice tube is so thin at .024 thickness that it cannot span out 5ft without any rafters.
This is why you see a rafter every 12” to 24”. Even their rafters and beams are roll-formed and very thin, sometimes they need to insert wood to provide the strength to support any architectural designs. Their posts are roll-formed material with .048 thickness and require an insert for support. Since all their products are roll-formed, they are not sturdy and can be easily deformed, like the gutter material.
⤓ What are 4K Pergo-Soleil Panels?
4K Pergo-Soleil is a designed laser-cut panel cut from a plain aluminum sheet alloy 5052. Each design must be redesigned to accommodate and fit our standard size sheets 4’x8’ and 5’x10’. After they are laser cut, they are powder coated with our unique custom powder coating, which guarantees a 20-year warranty. Our panels are thick at .160 and .100 thickness and can be used for commercial applications like shades, privacy panels, fencing, yard arts, etc.
⤓ What is the warranty for 4K Aluminum?
4K Aluminum offers 20 years powder coating warranty (AAMA 2604).
⤓ What is the maintenance on the 4K Aluminum cover?
Moderate dirt, occasional washing with clear water using a garden hose, and a soft-bristled brush is commended, or a long-handled, car-washing brush is ideal for this purpose.

From operation and maintenance to customization options, find all the essential information you need to maximize the potential of your outdoor space with our versatile Equinox Louvered Roofs.
⤓ What are the benefits of an Equinox Louvered Roof?
Equinox is designed and built to last. The high-quality and low maintenance of the aluminum used ensures your system continues to look and function like new. Durable aluminum components tested under Miami-Dade County Hurricane protocols are engineered to withstand the local elements. An Equinox Louvered Roof also adds value to your home while providing you with an outdoor living space you can use year-round.
⤓ Does the Equinox Louvered Roof come with a warranty?
The louvers and all support components (beams, gutters and posts) are warranted for twenty (20) years from the date on installation against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. The power components (motor, solar panel, link bar, electronic controls) are warranted for three (3) years (parts replacement only) from the date of installation. Batteries are warranted for one (1) year from date of installation.
⤓ How Does an Equinox Louvered Roof System work?
sEquinox® Louvered Roofs contain louver blades that rotate within a fixed frame. Driven by a motor typically connected to a transformer, the louvers rotate in unison to allow the exact amount of light, shade and ventilation desired. When closed, the interlocking louver blades create a waterproof seal. The louvers are slightly pitched to direct water into an integrated gutter and downspout system that channels rainwater away from the covered area. Residential roofs are typically controlled by a wireless remote control that is programmed and can be linked to a smart device, so they require no additional wiring or power from the home. Depending on the roof size, commercial roofs are controlled by one or more toggle switches located near the patio area. The motor is powered by a transformer connected to an ordinary 110v outlet.
⤓ Where can an Equinox Roof System be installed?
Equinox Louvered Roof systems can be used wherever sun, light and weather control is needed. Whether covering a patio, deck, spa, pool, outdoor kitchen, BBQ area, entryway or courtyard, Equinox roofs are designed and engineered to enhance outdoor lifestyles. The roofs may be built as a free-standing system or attached to an existing structure.
